Reporting to the Manager / Food Service Supervisor, the Utility Worker may be responsible for preparing and serving meals and supplies to patients, residents, Veterans, staff, families and customers. Additionally, they are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing patient trays, related equipment and workplaces. The Utility Worker supports protected food handling procedures and provides overall service excellence.Key Work ActivitiesPatient Meal Selections (Customer Service)Answer patient phone calls and enter meal selections on a computer as applicableVisit patients in their rooms and enter meal selections on an electronic tabletProduct/Food Preparation/Assembly and ServiceAssemble, portion, and serve patient and visitor mealsPortion and assemble nourishments, special feedings, beverages, menu items, and prepare “mix & serve” menu itemsPrepare salad and sandwichesDelivery and CollectionDeliver and distribute selective menus and patient mealsDeliver nourishments, supplies (food and non‑food)Collect soiled patient traysParticipate in receiving and storing supplies (food and non‑food) using First In First Out (FIFO)Receive and interpret patient diet/meal orders; confirm patient meal requirementsManage inventoryMenu DutiesGenerate and print menus, reports, tallies and labelsPrint Meditech/STAR report and compare to CBORD/Vision reportsFood Safety and SanitationClean and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment,
