This intermediate‑level engineering role is focused on executing moderately complex to complex engineering tasks required in the creation, configuration and optimization of industrial processes to produce and/or test Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and/or box assemblies. The role executes engineering activities within the engineering team with the support of Engineering Management, combining hands‑on experience with professional growth and a pathway for future career advancement.ResponsibilitiesEngage in setup and process readiness of manufacturing processes, including equipment & tooling, while ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.Demonstrate a good understanding of electronics principles and manufacturing services processes.Execute standard engineering projects and tasks, including prototypes, and perform technical work within the engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet customer specifications.Deal with complex escalated issues as necessary.Document manufacturing processes and procedures, ensuring accurate records and protocol adherence.Maintain and/or troubleshoot equipment, tools and tooling necessary for electronic manufacturing processes, minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency.Work with other business functions as required.Troubleshoot and repair products as required.Communicate technical information clearly and contribute to operational goals within the engineering team, other functions, and 3rd‑party partners.Support and drive continuous‑improvement and productivity‑improvement efforts on existing processes and current process development.Perform root‑cause corrective and preventive actions.Provide guidance to interns, technicians, and junior engineers as needed.Test Engineering SpecificExecute test engineering tasks and activities with the support of the Test Engineering team.Read and develop wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units.Write test procedures and build test stations, including the design and implementation of test fixtures and setups to improve test efficiency and accuracy.Document, maintain and improve test solutions, ensuring they are up‑to‑date,



effective and aligned with product specifications.Use and update Computerized Maintenance Management System tasks and schedules.Troubleshoot and calibrate test equipment, test setups and fixtures, resolving issues and ensuring test accuracy and reliability.Improve test strategies, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of testing.Provide technical training and support to technicians in the use of test equipment and execution of test procedures.Perform Design‑for‑Test analysis with cross‑functional teams, reporting with customers.Analyze electronic and electromechanical assemblies to determine cause of product defect, including circuit analysis, part identification, diagnosis and replacement of defective components.Analyze defective components to determine failure cause and provide a report for Engineering and Supply Chain corrective action.Resolve difficult debugging escalations.Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues.Contribute to the CapEx Roadmap for the site.QualificationsBachelor's Degree (4‑year) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Mechatronic, or related discipline) with a focus on electronics and manufacturing processes, or equivalent industry or military training.Up to 7 years of engineering experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.Sound fundamental knowledge of digital and analog circuitry.Required SkillsInterpret technical documents such as wiring diagrams and drawings effectively.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards such as ISO9001/13485 or AS9100.Knowledge of new‑product introduction concepts and ability to execute supporting projects.Execute Design‑for‑Assembly and Design‑for‑Test tasks.Follow and create detailed instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Capacity to learn, apply,



and develop new skills in a dynamic manufacturing services environment.Working knowledge of IPC standards including J‑standards, 610 Class2 and Class3, Lean principles, Six Sigma and industrial ergonomics.Proficient in computer systems, CAD/CAM and programming.Engineering project management and leadership skills.Proficient in using test and measurement instrumentation, including analog, digital & RF.Proficient with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators.Working knowledge of in‑circuit test, boundary scan and flying‑probe debugging.Strong technical documentation abilities.Ability to understand and create electrical schematic diagrams.Gather technical data, compile information and provide recommendations.Demonstrate initiative, independent judgment and creativity.Excellent communication skills in English.Beneficial SkillsExperience developing automated test systems in a manufacturing test environment.Extensive knowledge of test and measurement instrumentation, including test automation and PC‑based I/O and data acquisition hardware.Experience with PXI or LXI instrumentation.Use of advanced RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and power meters.Design and develop test fixtures and associated test software.Ability to develop test software in NI LabVIEW/TestStand or Visual Studio (C++, C#, VB).Experience using Aster TestWay.Design experience using in‑circuit test, boundary scan or flying‑probe.Ability to design PCB schematics and PCB layout using CAD software.Aptitude for mechanical and electro‑mechanical concepts.Project management experience.Compensation and BenefitsIn compliance with pay‑transparency requirements, the anticipated pay for new hires for this position starts at $92,000–$100,000CAD. A shift differential may also be provided depending on work hours.
