OUR CLIENT, WADE ANTENNA, IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED ENGINEERING MANAGERAs leaders in the development and manufacturing of high-quality communication antennas, WADE Antenna’s products are used by military organizations, defence contractors, and commercial aviation systems worldwide.With customers including DND, Canadian Defence, and NATO, we are perfectly positioned to be a part of changing the landscape of the Canadian defense strategy.We are looking for a visionary Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians as they develop, test, and create solutions to technical problems and be a constructive member of the management team.Reporting to the General Manager, you bring hands on experience, creative out of the box problem solving, and excellent people skills.Here is what you will be responsible for:Managing and working with the engineering team including hiring, training, leading, mentoring and supporting personal developmentOverseeing and managing research and development, product and process improvement projects and preparing detailed information for SR&ED, while coordinating with management and other departmentsTogether with the management team, spearhead our ISO initiative for the engineering disciplineEnsuring the department adheres to standard engineering practicesReviewing/approving company/customer drawings, specifications and proceduresCreating detailed project specifications and timelines to accomplish realistic goalsPreparing budgets, approve expenditures and control costs for the departmentMaintaining and verifying up-to-date compliance with all relevant standards and regulations (MIL-STD, RoHS, REACH, CMRT, CSA, etc.), ensuring they are appropriately documented, tracking,
and contractual enforcement across all projects and suppliersWorking closely with Sales in developing overall requirements for current products and developing attainable results from prototyping through final releaseEstablishing administrative policies, procedures, and standards for the engineering groupCoordinating activities with executive and management team to align with company strategies and long‑term goals to achieve growth and expansionHere is what you bring:P.Eng. preferred but will accept other qualifying certificationsMinimum 7-10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing settingMinimum 3 years' experience in RF engineering preferredMinimum 5 years of management and supervisory experienceYellow or Green belt in Lean Manufacturing is an assetProven ability to solve structural problems such as moments, material stress, and loadingProven experience with electrical systems and industrial automationExperience with 2D & 3D drawing using Autodesk InventorExperience with technical drawing requirements such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14 and 3D modeling techniquesIn depth experience in standard engineering processes such as Engineering Change Orders and DeviationsProven ability to lead projects and deliver results with documented data and metricsExperience in manufacturing techniques, processes and practical implementationHere is what we offer:An opportunity to get onboard with a company set for growth and input to the Canadian National Security and Defense strategyA starting base salary of $100-120k/ year, with bonus potentialParticipation in company matching pension planMonthly social events for the entire companyPosition Status: This is a replacement position.AI is not used in the screening or evaluation of candidates.Currently, we are only able to consider applicants who are legally allowed to work in Canada.We are committed to providing a barrier-free work environment in concert with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
