What is the opportunity?Do you thrive in working in an interactive environment where you manage a team? As a Vice President with our Credit Transaction Management team, you will work closely with our sector Corporate Banking teams in Toronto, New York, and London to facilitate the growth of our Fund Finance, EML, and NBFI portfolios, and you will manage a team that covers a portfolio of clients within the Global Corporate Banking division of RBC Capital Markets. You will also work closely with other groups within Capital Markets and the Bank to deliver a full range of credit and banking services to our clients.What will you do?Credit Underwriting:Supervise your team’s work on a wide variety of credit transactions and present deals in the credit adjudication process. Transaction work includes writing transaction memos for submission to appropriate commitments committees; conducting financial analysis of financial statements, borrowing bases, cash flow projections, structures, key terms, and industry trends for current credit, refinancings, renewals/extensions, covenant amendments/waivers, and other minor amendments; and coordinating with internal partners (Group Risk Management (GRM), Know Your Client (KYC), and Funding and Lending Services) to ensure timely closings.Stakeholder Engagement:Work closely with and maintain positive relationships with Corporate Banking (CB), Group Risk Management (GRM), Global Markets (GM),
and Global Loans Administration (GLA). Serve as your team’s primary point of contact and conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure a high level of service is provided to other groups within the Bank.Data Integrity:Supervise your team in ensuring credit agreement terms are correctly reflected in the Bank’s systems and that all credit documentation is accounted for and reviewed on a timely basis (e.G., credit agreements, amendments, waivers, security documents).Coaching & Team Management:Provide regular feedback and coaching on employee performance and progress against goals, career progression, and continual training. Stay up to date on Bank policy, credit trends, and industry research in an effort to develop a high performing team that produces insightful, high‑quality work in a timely manner.Other Responsibilities:Present to key stakeholders, report portfolio statistics, and conduct periodic process reviews to promote a culture of continuous process improvement.What do you need to succeed?A minimum of 5 to 8 years of first‑line transaction‑based work experience.Experience in the NBFI, Fund Finance,
or EML sectors is an asset but not required.Experience in credit risk management (adjudication within delegated limit authority) or client relationship management is also considered an asset.An MBA or a Professional Designation (e.G., CPA, CFA) is considered an asset.Strong financial & risk analysis skills, with a good understanding of accounting standards and financial modelling.Strong understanding of credit documentation (e.G., loan agreements, security documents).Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation skills, and ability to manage conflicting demands and multiple stakeholder expectations.People management & coaching experience and ability to work effectively within a team environment and interact with all levels within the organization.Ability to prioritize competing workstreams and perform well under pressure to meet time‑sensitive deadlines.Familiarity with RBC Capital Markets systems & credit processes is considered an asset.What’s in it for you?Ability to make a difference and have lasting impact.Work in an agile, collaborative, progressive, and high‑performing team.Opportunities to do challenging work.LocationROYAL BANK PLAZA, 200 BAY ST, TORONTO, CanadaCompensationThe expected pay range for this position is $115,000.00 – $165,000.00. RBC supports pay transparency and strives to ensure all pay ranges are competitive, fair, and equitable.
