Ideal candidates will be based in either Guelph or London, Ontario. This is not a desk‑only role; we’re looking fora true “boots‑on‑the‑ground” leader with deep experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments who thrives in fast‑paced, operationally complex settings.In this role, you’ll take ownership of health and safety strategy while rolling up your sleeves to ensure consistent, compliant, and high‑performing execution on the ground. real‑time coaching that improves safe work practices and builds leadership capability.Monitor Performance & Drive ImprovementTrack KPIs, analyze trends, and work closely with site leadership to implement corrective actions and continuously improve safety outcomes.Audit & Strengthen SystemsConduct and support internal audits, ensuring Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) effectiveness, compliance, and continuous enhancement.Lead Incident InvestigationsTake charge of investigations; identifying root causes, ensuring corrective actions are executed, and sharing learnings organization‑wide.Collaborate Across the BusinessWork cross‑functionally with operations, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure secure, coordinated, and compliant site activities.Maintain & Evolve Safety ProgramsUpdate policies, procedures, training, and documentation to reflect evolving regulations and operational needs.Emergency Preparedness LeadershipSupport the development and implementation of emergency response programs and coordinate with local first responders when necessary.Report & Influence Leadership DecisionsDeliver monthly/quarterly reporting with actionable insights to senior leadership and the Board.Stay Connected to OperationsTravel 25–30% to Ontario sites—building relationships, conducting audits, leading safety conversations, and ensuring boots‑on‑ground visibility.What are the Requirements?5+ years of hands‑on,



“boots‑on‑the‑ground” safety leadership in manufacturing, industrial, or production environmentsStrong working knowledge of Ontario safety legislation (OHSA, WSIB, MOL) and proven experience navigating regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience working directly with regulatory bodies and inspectionsProven ability to lead safety initiatives in multi‑site operationsExperience with HSMS implementation, audits, and continuous improvementStrong incident investigation and root cause analysis expertiseExperience in Prime Contractor / CSO roles (considered an asset)Degree, diploma, or designation in Occupational Health & Safety or related fieldCertifications such as CRSP, CRST, NCSO/HSO considered strong assetsTechnical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word (data tracking, reporting, analysis)Experience using Health & Safety Management Systems (HSMS) softwareStrong ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into operational practicesKey CompetenciesStrong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, from shop floor to executiveHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple sites and competing prioritiesAnalytical thinker with a proactive, problem‑solving mindsetFlexible, collaborative, and committed to continuous safety improvementHigh attention to detail with strong professional integrity and confidentialityFor our client, safety is not a checkbox; it’s a core valueembedded in everything they do.
