Step into the role of Operations Technician at the museum on a temporary six-month contract. This position plays a key role in maintaining safety, setting up events, and troubleshooting equipment to enhance visitor experiences.
The Operations Technician, under the Facilities Manager, is responsible for ensuring the museum runs efficiently, from setting up for events to routine maintenance. Working Saturday to Wednesday, this role includes physical tasks and assistance with audiovisual setups. Your contributions will significantly impact the operations and visitor engagement of the museum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment for safety and compliance
• Set up and remove furniture and audio-visual equipment
• Adjust and troubleshoot audio and stage lighting
• Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems
• Follow strict safety protocols
Requirements:
• Basic communication skills in English or French
• Must work independently or under direction
• Familiarity with safety risks in maintenance tasks
• Experience with A/V tools is advantageous
• Capable of lifting heavy equipment up to 100 lbs
