About the Role

Our client, an established primary school in Kimberley , is seeking an enthusiastic Foundation Phase Teacher specializing in teaching English as a First Additional Language. This role is crucial for ensuring young learners develop strong foundational literacy skills in English, which is essential for their academic journey in the Northern Cape . You will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment where children aged 6-9 can confidently learn and practice their English language skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about early language acquisition and committed to fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging English First Additional Language lessons to Foundation Phase learners.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Assess students' language progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.




- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall development of young learners.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

- A relevant Bachelor's degree in Education (Foundation Phase specialization).
- CELTA or TEFL certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Foundation Phase or teaching English as a Second Language.
- Strong understanding of early childhood literacy development.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
