Laser Cutting Technician We're looking for the right fit - could you be our missing piece?

Puzzle Lab is seeking a meticulous, hands-on, and safety-conscious part-time Laser Cutting Technician to join our growing Production Department. This role is responsible for operating our laser-cutting equipment and producing precision-cut wooden puzzles that meet our standards for quality and care.

This position is expected to be approximately 28 hours per week, primarily scheduled Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., plus a seven-hour Saturday shift. The timing of the Saturday shift is flexible. The schedule may shift over time based on production needs, with any changes communicated in advance.

Previous laser-cutting experience is not required. We're happy to train someone with the right attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

About Puzzle Lab Puzzle Lab is a fast-growing wood jigsaw puzzle company with an underlying passion for art, innovation, and creativity. More than that, we're a friendly group of open-minded humans working together to create joyful experiences for our fans and customers. We pride ourselves in our consistent efforts towards environmental sustainability, support of local artists, and an ethical business model.

Puzzle Labs vision is to awaken the inner child in all of us. In a world that feels faster, louder, and more serious every day, it's easy to forget the simple joy of play. But play is where wonder lives; it's where we reconnect with curiosity, delight, and our most human selves. Our work is about creating nostalgic and whimsical moments that bring people back, even briefly, to that childlike feeling of sincere awe and carefree discovery.

Position Overview Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be an essential part of bringing our puzzles to life. This is a hands-on production role focused on operating our laser-cutting equipment safely and carefully to create high-quality wooden puzzles.

You'll prepare materials, monitor cutting jobs, inspect work for quality and accuracy, and help keep our equipment and workspace clean, organized, and running smoothly. You'll work both independently and alongside the rest of our Production Department to meet daily priorities and production goals.

The ideal candidate takes pride in careful, consistent work and enjoys the satisfaction of creating high-quality physical products. You don't need previous laser-cutting experience, but you should be comfortable learning to work with tools, machinery, production software, and detailed safety procedures.

Puzzle Lab is a growing company, and many of our systems and processes continue to evolve. We ask that new team members first learn and feel confident in our current ways of working. Once you're settled, your feedback and ideas for improvement are genuinely welcome.

We're a collaborative, evolving team, and responsibilities may shift gradually as you grow into the role and as the company grows. Any changes are always communicated clearly, and where appropriate, terms of employment are reviewed together.
