- Plan, allocate and optimise labour, equipment and other production resources.
- Oversee daily production, packaging and dispatch operations.
- Manage staffing across shifts and monitor labour efficiency, absenteeism and turnover.
- Develop and improve employee skills through coaching, mentoring and training.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Monitor production efficiency, capacity, inventory accuracy and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Implement asset care and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices.
- Monitor production costs, overtime, variances and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health and safety standards and relevant legislation.
- Maintain required BRC, GFCO, Halal and Kosher certifications.
- Apply root cause analysis and statistical methods to resolve production issues.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Production Management, Engineering (BTech) or Food Technology.
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of relevant employment, occupational health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations.
- Understanding of asset care, workflow management and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership, team management and problem‑solving abilities.
