Support and uplift residents as a Wellness Assistant at The Emerald. Participate in diverse activities including arts, music, and fitness to foster a sense of belonging.
In this role, you will assist the Wellness Coordinator by conducting activation programs tailored to resident needs and preferences. Candidates should have completed a recognized Therapeutic Recreation Program and have recent experience in long-term care. Your focus will be on enhancing cognitive and social abilities of residents through engaging programs and supportive interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate music, cooking, and gardening activities
• Transfer and assist residents safely during events
• Provide and manage assistive devices for residents




• Advertise and engage community participation
• Track and report residents’ cognitive and functional status
Requirements:
• Minimum two-year Therapeutic Recreation Program
• Two years of related experience preferred
• Valid Class 4 vehicle license, an asset
• First Aid/CPR certification current
• Preferred training in programs for dementia
