The Product Manager, Hardware (PM HW) is responsible for guiding the success of a product by working with cross-functional teams to support our solutions portfolio based in the North American market to ensure we always meet the needs of our customers. In this role, the PM HW will need to be aware of new technology trends, innovations and market shifts with the intent of maintaining Checkpoint’s increasingly profitable leadership position.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct strategic business analysis to predict impact of industry trends as well as business and technology innovations.Conduct strategic competitive analysis to understand the value and differentiation of competing solutions and associated products.Develop the key sustainability strategy and internal, external messagingDevelop and maintain a rolling 5-yr corporate strategy plan for the HW systems business.Daily DutiesEnd-to-end product portfolio management:Roadmap, product line strategy definition and life cycles management (phase-in and phase-out) aligning the phase out of EOL product with the phase in of new developed product to avoid over stock issuesCreate new SKUs and descriptions and portfolio standardization (SKUs reduction)Quality requirements (sourced and manufactured product), approvals and patent supervisionPrice (MSP and RSP) and sales strategy definition for the entire portfolioKeep track of competing products and monitor marketing and production efforts, setting price, margin and revenue, ensuring that TMC is on target to be aligned with the market.Team-building on PM roadmap alignment with the Global PM group.SCM demand planning co-operationSCM/Factory Slow moving Inventory campaigns etc.Factory Liaison/Cost reduction projects2. Marketing Support:Product launch plan (sustaining, evolution or innovation) supporting technical documentation and project prioritization based on the innovation level, market window,
benefits or commercial impactDefinition, configuration and monitoring of all new product launches and promotions on social networks and magazines3. R&D; Support:Discovery Product Management with R&D; for new product development:Prototyping phase before BCNew initiatives alignment into the roadmapBusiness Cases definition for new product development or cost reduction at North American level, according to the scope of the project or commercial need.Deliver MRDs, SRDs and/or PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification for R&D;, including target cost and market price by region and / or customer4. Sales & Customer Support:Price definition by country / competition market priceTechnical support with internal training (direct or indirect channel) and external (customers)Customer visits and presentations (key opportunities)Resolution of daily multi-departmental technical questionsSales Support: including sales presentation preparation and delivery for selected customers as the request of Sales.5.
