? Manufacturing Engineering | Custom Automation | Technical Documentation

Ellos HR Solutions is recruiting a Process Engineer for an established manufacturing organization in the Cambridge, Ontario area.

This is not your typical Process Engineering position.

The company designs and builds customized automated equipment in-house, and one of the most important responsibilities of this role is ensuring that every machine is supported by complete, accurate, professional technical documentation.

THE CORE RESPONSIBILITY

A major focus of this position will be creating the technical manuals required for equipment built internally by the Engineering team.

You will work directly with engineers, automation specialists, maintenance personnel and the equipment itself to understand how each machine operates and translate that technical information into documentation that operators and maintenance teams can actually use.

This includes:

? Complete equipment and machine manuals

? Operating, setup and changeover procedures

? Preventive maintenance instructions

? Troubleshooting and diagnostic guides

? Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

? Machine safety documentation

? Training materials for operators and technicians

? Process standards and technical work instructions

? Equipment commissioning and handover documentation

The person joining the team will take ownership of this documentation process from beginning to end, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manuals are completed and maintained as equipment evolves.





BEYOND TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

This is still an Engineering position.

You will also be involved with:

✔ Equipment commissioning, startup, debugging and validation

✔ Process development and optimization

✔ PFMEA, process flows, control plans and standardized work

✔ Root cause analysis and corrective actions

✔ Automated machinery, robotics, sensors, vision systems and assembly equipment

✔ Manufacturing trials and process capability

✔ Continuous Improvement, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives

✔ Production and Maintenance troubleshooting support

✔ JSA, risk assessments, PHSR and machine safety activities

✔ Cross-functional projects with Automation, Quality, Maintenance, Toolroom and Production

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

✅ Degree or College Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical discipline

✅ Approximately 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or related manufacturing experience

✅ Experience working around custom machinery, automation, robotics or automated manufacturing equipment

✅ Strong ability to understand and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings,



schematics and technical information

✅ Previous experience developing machine manuals, technical documentation, work instructions, LOTO procedures or troubleshooting documentation

✅ Knowledge of PFMEA, process validation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement

✅ Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge

✅ CAD experience; SolidWorks is a strong asset

✅ Strong written communication skills combined with the ability to understand what is actually happening on the manufacturing floor

Someone who can stand in front of a newly built automated machine, work with Engineering to understand how and why it works, review the drawings and technical information, ask the right questions, and then turn all of that into a professional, comprehensive machine manual from start to finish.
