This role manages legally valuable accounts valued at $2,000 or more, including files with legal-worth qualifiers, across all provinces. The Legal Resolutions Officer negotiates complex settlements, structures settlement terms, conducts Pre-Legal Suitability vetting, and completes asset and employment verification to support legal enforcement, using KSI legal tools. This role has full autonomy in debtor communication across all channels. Legal Resolutions Officers do not enforce — they support the enforcement process, working with the paralegal in the carriage of each portfolio.Annual SalaryUp to $65,000, depending of experience [+ monthly bonus structure] [+Benefits eligible]As a Legal Resolutions Officer, you will be:Managing legal-stage portfolios of accounts valued at $2,000 and above across all provinces, including files with mortgage-related exposureApplying legal-worthy file criteria — three or more R1 tradelines, assignment dates greater than 10 days post-NB treatment — to determine portfolio compositionSupporting KSI Law's pre-litigation program through accurate portfolio oversight and file readinessConducting Pre-Legal Suitability vetting on legal-stage filesCompleting asset and employment verification in support of legal enforcementDriving the PTS process using internal legal tools, including the legal dashboardAutonomous Debtor CommunicationCommunicating with debtors across all channels — phone, SMS,
and email — with full autonomyNegotiating complex settlements and structuring terms of settlement directly with debtorsSupporting, not conducting, the legal enforcement process — working under the paralegal in carriage of the portfolioCredit Analysis & Debtor ProfilingConducting in-depth credit analysis to assess debtor asset and liability profiles, including tradeline reviewUsing credit and financial profiling to inform settlement strategy and legal-stage file remediationDocumentation, Compliance & Internal CollaborationUpholding the professional standards KSI Law maintains as a law firm regulated by the Law Society of Ontario, including accurate documentation of all legal-stage account activityCollaborating closely with the paralegal in carriage of each portfolio to meet procedural and compliance requirementsMaintaining detailed, audit-ready documentation in the legal CRM and KSI legal tools in support of remediation and/or enforcementPerformance AccountabilityMeeting a monthly KPI on net new referrals — collecting, pre-vetting, and referring suit-worthy files to the legal departmentReporting on portfolio performance and referral metrics in accordance with procedural and compliance requirementsAs our ideal candidate, you will bring:Required:Current status as a Paralegal (P1) licensed with the Law Society of Ontario, an NCA (National Committee on Accreditation) student in good standing, a lawyer newly called to the Bar of Ontario, or an equivalent legal qualification.Positive understanding of litigation processes, pre-litigation procedures, and settlement negotiation.Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to negotiate complex settlements.Proficiency with legal case-management tools, credit reporting systems,
and CRM/dashboard platforms.Availability to work rotating shiftsPreferred:Prior experience in collections, credit analysis, or legal support rolesFamiliarity with Canadian credit bureau reporting practices (Equifax, TransUnion)Location & Schedule:On-site — Markham, Ontario, Canada. Shifts rotate across 9am–5pm, 11am–7pm, and 1pm–9pmCompensation & Employment Terms:Up to $65,000 annually, depending on experience [floor needed], plus a monthly performance bonus [formula pending]. This is a salaried position.
