Our client is a respected specialist engineering consultancy with a strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure and tunnelling projects. Due to continued growth and project demand, they are looking to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer to join a major tunnelling project in Vancouver.
Role Overview
This is an exciting chance for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with strong rock mapping and tunnelling experience. The successful candidate will be based on-site and must be comfortable working 12‑hour shifts within the tunnel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed rock and geological mapping in the tunnel
- Monitor ground and geological conditions and report findings
- Provide geotechnical input and support to the construction team
- Maintain accurate field data and technical reports
- Ensure safety standards are maintained at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of relevant geotechnical experience, ideally on tunnelling or underground projects
- Proven experience in rock mapping and tunnel geology
- Comfortable working 12‑hour shifts in underground environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
