LAPORTE is hiring a Building Mechanical Engineer with over five years of experience in Calgary or Edmonton. This role focuses on design activities for HVAC and plumbing systems in a hybrid work environment.
As a pivotal member of LAPORTE, you'll support complex projects in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food sectors. Your expertise will guide junior engineers while actively engaging in the design and execution of mechanical systems like chilled water, dust collection, and controls. You'll also foster solid client relationships, ensuring projects meet their needs through effective planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design HVAC and plumbing systems with energy efficiency in mind
• Prepare schematic designs and engineering studies for new systems




• Conduct surveys to enhance existing installations
• Manage MEP project delivery and assess requirements
• Contribute to technical quality and interdisciplinary coordination
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• P.Eng registration with EGBC, APEGA, or APEGS
• 5+ years of design engineering experience
• Knowledge of central utilities and HVAC systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
