Security SupervisorPrimaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Security Supervisor to join our team at our Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax, NS. If you have a background in Security Administration, supervisory experience and thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, this opportunity is perfect for you!ResponsibilitiesDaily supervision of Security Personnel; oversee scheduling, security assignments, incident reporting, inspections, and patrols.Oversee and assist in monitoring CCTV system, sensitive areas, and controlled access points.Immediately respond and assist with security and life safety related requests, delivering first aid, CPR or other medically necessary procedures.Respond immediately to emergencies and coordinate activities in accordance with established and approved lawful policies and procedures.Ensure proper procedures are observed for reporting liability claims and completion of occurrence reports.Train staff on compliance with log books, posted memos, brief books, instructions and policies.Oversee staff operation and compliance of department computers and technical equipment.Supervise use of memo books, uniforms, and equipment; monitor calls to dispatch and assist staff accordingly.Maintain communications with retail tenants, local law enforcement agencies,



local fire prevention personnel and local emergency medical services personnel.Help implement emergency procedures, disaster recovery plans, building access control, security systems, reports and recommendations.Perform shift work, including holidays and weekends.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsCollege diploma in Police Foundations, Law Enforcement and/or Security Administration.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a retail environment.Valid driver’s license.1–2 years of proven supervisory experience.Clear Criminal Background check clearance.Familiar with applicable health & safety legislation (e.G., WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety).Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED & Oxygen Administration.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work in a team.Self‑motivated, diplomatic and confident individual to deal with tenants and the public.Previous Supervisor, Security an asset.CompensationExpected Salary Range: CAD $50,000 – $60,000.Equal Prospect EmployerPrimaris REIT is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing fair recruitment and employment practices to all employees and applicants.
