The ST‑Engineer, Production assists with improvements to production safety, quality, capacity, reliability, cost per 1000 dosages, customer service and regulatory compliance in the Production department. As part of a team, the ST‑Engineer, Production works with others in Solid Dose to reduce or eliminate non‑value added activities or costs while maintaining or improving quality, productivity, and project timelines.Job ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Production Technicians and the Production Technical team to understand and analyze production processes and equipment to make continuous improvements focusing on safety, quality and productivity.Manage resources to complete projects on schedule and create contingency plans to ensure minimal production impact.Liaise regularly with Production Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance and SHE group to coordinate project activities.Following Change Control requirements, coordinate the installation and commissioning of production equipment, including completing equipment installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQs) for new and existing equipment, as required.Seek out issues and recommend solutions for improvements in production processes,
reliability and compliance.Generate maintenance and operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as required.Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SOPs and established safety standards.Work in a safe manner while collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.Demonstrate company values: collaboration, courage, perseverance and passion.Maintain personal adherence to all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, safety and setting policies, and HR policies.Perform all other relevant duties as assigned.Job RequirementsEducationMust be enrolled in a recognized post‑secondary Co‑op education program.Preferred schools and programs: University of Toronto, Ryerson, Humber College (Engineering, Sciences or related technical field).Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work within a team environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid‑paced environment.Customer‑service skills.Strong organizational, time management and project‑management skills.Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.ExperienceSuccessful completion of the third year in Engineering, Sciences or related technical field.Experience coordinating project activities is considered an asset.EEO StatementAt Apotex, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and accessible work environment, where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported to succeed.We offer accommodation for applicants with disabilities as part of the recruitment process.
