Risk Management protects the firm from exposure to losses resulting from defaults by our lending and trading counterparties.Background on the PositionMorgan Stanley seeks a professional to join the Risk Analysis and Reporting team within the Firm Risk department. Firm Risk provides independent oversight across the Firm's trading and investment activities. Risk Analysis and Reporting is a critical component of Firm Risk, responsible for performing detailed risk analysis, creating comprehensive risk reporting and designing and implementing strategic reporting solutions. The individual will cover a diverse range of responsibilities to facilitate analysis and control of risk information to meet the requirements of the Firm's Risk Management function and the regulators.To be successful, candidates will need to have a relevant educational background (economics, mathematics, statistics or programming languages), a strong desire to learn, and the ability to work on a multidisciplinary, multi-regional team. Information processed in the department is confidential and thus the candidate must demonstrate integrity.Primary ResponsibilitiesOverseeing and enhancing the end-to-end risk reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirementsLead a team to manage senior risk committee reporting processes by collaborating with cross functional teamsLead projects to design and implement innovative solutions to develop risk reporting capabilities and solve risk data problems to enhance the Firm's risk management capabilities,



including developing interactive visualization toolingLead the design and implementation of risk infrastructure projects to enhance data management and risk reporting tooling capabilities.Lead strategic Firm Risk Management communication efforts by developing comprehensive senior management and board risk reporting capabilitiesDevelop presentations for senior management committees and board of directors.Work with regulators and internal audit to remediate gaps in reporting processes / controlsExperience working under pressure and performing to tight deadlines.Skills requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize information for delivery to senior managementStrong proficiency with technology, particularly visualization tools, databases, and scripting languages is a plusGood understanding of financial products and risk metricsAttention to detail and good organizational skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsBachelors or Master's degree (preferred) with 3-5 years of work experience in finance/accounting/risk management/technologyRisk management experience in market, credit risk and/or liquidity risk preferredHigher degrees or other qualifications related to any of the above areas will be advantageousWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
