This role requires advanced technical skill, deep organizational ability, and the capacity to lead teams under pressure while consistently delivering food that meets luxury hospitality standards. The Senior Chef de Partie acts as the operational backbone of events production and service.THE DAY TO DAY:Culinary Execution & Quality ControlExecute and oversee the production of large‑scale events menus, including plated, buffet, reception, and specialty custom events.Maintain exceptional consistency, presentation, and flavour across high‑volume serviceEnsure accurate execution of menu specifications, recipes, portioning, and plating standardsTaste and evaluate food throughout production and service to ensure qualityLeadership & Team OversightLead, mentor,
and direct cooks, and temporary staff during prep and serviceServe as the senior culinary presence on the line during serviceModel professionalism, calm leadership, and strong kitchen disciplineOperational PlanningParticipate in planning production schedules for multiple concurrent eventsCoordinate closely with Sous Chefs, Pastry, Garde Manger, and Stewarding teamsAnticipate service challenges and proactively adjust workflowSupport menu development and test current banquet items as requiredFood Safety & ComplianceEnforce strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standardsEnsure proper handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control of foodMaintain cleanliness and organization of kitchens and storage areasUphold all local health regulations and company policiesMonitor waste, yields, and portion control during productionAssist with inventory management, receiving, and proper stock rotationReport shortages, quality issues, or equipment concerns promptlySupport front‑of‑house teams during service when requiredRespond professionally to last‑minute changes, VIP requests,
and time‑critical situationsUphold the property’s standards of refined service and guest satisfactionQualificationsMinimum 10+ years of professional cooking experience, with extensive high‑volume event experienceAt least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role within large kitchensStrong mastery of classic and modern cooking techniquesProven ability to execute flawless service for events ranging from 50 to 1,000+ guestsDemonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skillsIn‑depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsCulinary diploma or equivalent professional experience preferredLegally eligible to work in CanadaExceptional time management and multitasking abilityCalm, decisive leadership under pressureHigh level of attention to detail and presentationStrong work ethic and reliabilityAbility to train, motivate, and hold team members accountableFlexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsCapable of lifting up to 50 lbsComfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑heat kitchen environmentsWhy This Role Is SeniorThis position is not simply executional—it is leadership‑driven.
