If you are looking for a company that is constantly moving forward in pursuit of successful outcomes, get ready to love it here!Hours: Temporary full time for up to 18 monthsWhat You’ll Be DoingRelease of Information from the patient record to applicable healthcare providers, employers, referral sources, etc. involved in the patient’s careProvide information relating to the patient files to internal physicians and other healthcare providers involved in the circle of careSupport and govern inpatient unit staff communication, to patient referral sourcesPrioritize workload to meet hospital and quality standardsRecognize, interpret inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in clinical reports and flag for clarification from the author, as neededClose and lock electronic patient chartsAccess patient record as needed for clarification and accuracy of data/informationComply with hospital, general business standards and completion requirements that apply to the patient recordPerform support for the CIM Department as necessaryWhat We’re Looking ForCompletion of a Health Office Administration CertificateMinimum of six (6) months of experience in a similar administrative or healthcare support role is preferredDemonstrated knowledge of confidentiality, privacy, and applicable healthcare legislationStrong verbal and written communication skills,
with proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilitiesAdvanced proofreading and editing capabilities with exceptional attention to detailProficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets, email platforms, database software, electronic health records (EHR), and the Microsoft Office Suite.Solid understanding of medico‑legal requirements and responsibilities related to legal health records, including compliance with legislative standards and privacy regulationsKnowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology is considered an assetHomewood Health promotes a fair and competitive compensation model.
