(Eligibility may vary, depending on position).SUMMARYThe positionis responsible forconducting examinations to assess financial sector compliance with regulatory requirements.ACCOUNTABILITIESConductsresearch, gathers and analyses information from a variety of internal and external sources.Identifiesrisks, themes and/or systemic issues and contributes to the development of financial institutionsmarketconductrisk assessment.Analysesdata(structured,unstructured,qualitative, and qualitative) and produces reports and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau.Makes recommendationsregardingthe subject,approach,and scope ofrisk-basedexaminations.Carries out desk-based and/or on-site examinations by conducting interviews,gatheringand evaluating documentary evidencein accordance withexamination plan, auditprocedures,and legislative requirements.Prepareswritten reports on examinationresults.Encourages voluntary complianceduringexaminations,identifiesopportunities to educate industry participants and reinforcegoodbusiness practices that align with regulatory expectations.Supports formal regulatory intervention or enforcement action and testifies at regulatory, tribunal, and other hearings.Participates and contributes to market conduct strategic initiatives,



special projects and working groups.Participates in the development,and ongoing evaluation of market conduct examination program and contributes to the development of market conduct processes and practices.Builds andmaintainsconstructive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders focused on enhancing the BCFSA’s reputation and credibility.Actively contributes to developingthe corporateculture and employee engagement by implementing and practicing the BCFSA’s core values.JOB REQUIREMENTS3+ years of experienceinanaudit,analytical,risk management, or similar role in the financial services sector.This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, attention to detail, strong financial andcritical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workwithin establisheddeadlines.RELATED EXPERIENCEExperienceconductingexaminations in the financial services sector, preferablyintheinsurancesector.Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and/or policies governing the regulatory program or similar regulatory programs.Knowledge of insurance company practices and products.Knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies.Knowledge and experience of data analytics, includingdashboarding and visualization tools suchas PowerBIand Tableau.Ability to exercisesoundjudgement, initiative,and discretion.Superior oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of audit/examinationsprinciples.Witha good understanding of audit and examination principles and practices.EDUCATIONDegree in business, public administration, law, or accounting and some related experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.PROVISOSCandidates must be eligible to work in Canada and living in British Columbia or intent to settle in the province.Internal candidates are kindly requested to use their BCFSA email address when applying for this position.
