1.0 Temporary Educational Assistant

CTEP -SEEDS Grades 7-8

Located in Parry Sound

Effective September 2, 2026 until the return of the employee

The Educational Assistant duties of this position are likely to include, but are not limited to, working with students with autism, behaviouralexceptionalities,physicaland developmentaldisabilities.The positionwillinvolve working as a team member in a special education program, delivering alternative program goals, therapy goals, sensory breaks, communication needs, and outings.

Location: School of Success Grades 7-8, Parry Sound High School

Youth within this program may have been relocated for treatment reasons or because their needs are such that they cannot benefit from programming offered in the regular classroom.

Qualifications:

- Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field

Knowledge/Skills Required:

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a school-based team
- Experience working with a variety of student exceptionalities including but not limited to: social, emotional, behavioural and educational needs.




- Broad knowledge and experience with a variety of support strategies includingABA(Applied Behavioural Analysis), Behaviour Management Systems,CPS (Collaborative Proactive Solutions).
- Experience with Trauma-Informed practises supporting youth
- Knowledge and respect of the language and culture when working with First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students.
- Proven ability to effectively support students in transitionand/orimplement programmingin consultation withclassroomteacher, central behavioural support team and a multi-disciplinary team.

Rate of Pay: $28.44 to $33.38 per hour
