About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Site Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained on construction sites in Kimberley . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of relevant safety legislation, contributing to a secure and compliant working environment for all personnel on site and supporting the company's commitment to zero harm.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to construction workers and staff.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS Act regulations and company safety policies.




- Maintain safety records, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training logs.

Requirements

- Registered as a Professional Practitioner in Occupational Health and Safety (Pr. OHS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
- Thorough knowledge of South African OHS Act and construction safety regulations.
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification techniques.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
