ResponsibilitiesAssigning, monitoring, and reviewing employee work including investigations, enforcement action, charges, and court briefs.Responding to complaints and conducting pro‑active patrols of the community investigating the circumstances of alleged violations.Report Writing and Documentation including entering and maintaining investigation details and information on appropriate records management systems.Collaborating, supporting, and engaging with fellow law enforcement entities. This role is expected to undertake additional responsibilities as needed.Conduct and manage employee performance through setting of goals/performance targets, providing regular feedback, coaching and counseling employees.Recommend and apply discipline where and when required.Investigate peace officer code of conduct complaints and alleged policy violations with the Peace Officer Program Supervisor.Maintain shift schedule ensuring appropriate shift coverage for approved service level.Review and authorize time sheets, leave applications, bank time and overtime.The individual we seek is or has advanced knowledge of Municipal Bylaws, Provincial Statutes, and relevant Municipal and Solicitor General Policies. A comprehensive understanding of powers of arrest, detention, and use of force policies is crucial.QualificationsA two-year College Diploma in the field of law enforcement including 5 years of operational enforcement experience, coupled with entry-level supervision experience.Level 1 Community Peace Officer Appointment from Alberta Justice and Solicitor General.Certifications in Emergency Vehicle Operation,
Standard First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, and Radar/Laser operation.Completion of Officer Safety and weapons training, including OC Spray and Baton.A thorough knowledge of the court process, the justice system, and rules of evidence, and ready to testify in court.Valid Pare/Copat/Popat Test results.A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license.Hours of WorkRotating schedule (7 days/week with weekend coverage), totaling 72 hours biweekly, with a regular day off (RDO) every two weeks.CompensationThe salary ranges from $90,875.41 - $108,480.34 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package with a adaptable spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.Learn more about our benefits here: Employee Benefit Guide.Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.Why You Should Work With UsYou will receive a Versatile Spending Account limit at the beginning of each calendar year (permanent full time $400).Employees can purchase an annual Recreation Access Pass for $87 + tax, granting unlimited access to Servus Credit Union Place (excluding PLAYcare and registered programs),
