Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Directional Driller to operate HDD equipment for underground utility installations, including fiber optic, telecom, and conduit work. The ideal candidate should be safety-focused, reliable, and able to work in a rapid-paced field setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.)
Perform bore planning, setup, and execution for underground installations
Read and understand locates, utility maps, and job drawings
Work closely with locator and crew to ensure accurate drilling
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Ensure all work is completed safely and meets company and client standards
Assist with job site setup, cleanup, and other labour duties as required

Requirements:




Minimum 2–3 years of HDD drilling experience
Experience with telecom/fiber installation preferred
Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum, Class 3 is an asset)
Knowledge of utility locates and ground disturbance practices
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Solid teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills
First Aid, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance Level II
Experience working on gas, fiber, or conduit projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.01-$40.00 per hour
