Full time Security Officer

Site Description:

Position: Full-Time Security Officer

Site: Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education

Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours

Hours: Monday to Friday - 0800-1630Hrs

Payrate: $18.50

Key Responsibilities:
Patrol the building, facilities and exterior grounds
Respond to incidents and play an active role in all emergency situations
Conduct investigations re: thefts, break and enter, suspicious persons, accidents, vandalism, etc and complete incident reports, occurrence logs or appropriate documentation
Complete door locks/unlocks as required; monitor for unsecure doors
Provide assistance, as necessary to staff and visitors
Assist in orientation and training of new security personnel, as required
Provide First Aid response
Monitor surveillance cameras, as required
Other related duties and assignments, as delegated by the University Security Manager.
Parking Duties may be required.

Prerequisites:
Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia




Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
