Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Kitchen Helper to join our food service team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the food industry, eager to gain hands-on experience, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The Kitchen Helper will support the kitchen staff in meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position offers an excellent prospect to develop culinary skills and gain valuable restaurant experience in a fast-paced setting.

Duties
Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
Package take-out food
Portion and wrap foods
Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
Take customers' orders
Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces,



cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
Remove kitchen garbage and trash
Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors

Experience
Prior experience in a restaurant or food service workplace is an asset
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation processes is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is a plus
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks
Willingness to learn current skills related to kitchen operations and food service standards

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
