Overview
We are seeking several dedicated CERTIFIED Experienced Flaggers with VEHICLES to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
This role is essential for maintaining safety standards during paving, heavy equipment operation, and various construction activities. The ideal candidates will be attentive, responsible, and capable of working in agile outdoor environments. Prior experience in construction or traffic control is a plus, but training will be provided for the right candidates. Responsibilities
Certified Experienced Flaggers to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using standardized hand signals and signage
Have all certified PPE such as: Orange Helmet type 2 with chin strap, yellow shirt and pants, steel toed boots, stop sign, and radio.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and traffic regulations to protect workers and the public
Communicate effectively with good English with all construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to facilitate secure passage
Monitor work zones continuously for potential hazards or unsafe conditions
Report any incidents or safety concerns to site supervisors promptly and to our head office
Be willing to travel outside of the city as the need requires.
Experience
Prior experience in traffic control, heavy equipment operation, paving, or general construction is preferred
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills in English
Ability to remain alert and attentive during long shifts
Be able to drive to locations with a reliable vehicle as needed
Valid certification or willingness to obtain traffic control certification is a plus
MUST have all PPE such as Type 2 Orange helmet, Steel Toed Boots, Yellow shirt and pants, Stop Sign and Radio. Must be able to drive and provide a Flagging Certificate.
