The Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of creative product concepts from ideation through to handoff for commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, capable of navigating ambiguity, driving innovation, and aligning engineering solutions with business and customer needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Innovation: Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.
Develop and Validate Concepts: Create, analyze, and test cutting-edge concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.
Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.
Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross-functional discussions to generate new ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation
Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.




Support IP and Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.
Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years in an automotive manufacturing workplace, preferably in product development.
Strong analytical creativity skills
Familiarity with IP documentation processes
Verbal and written communication
Proficiency in CAD
Simulation tools
Organizational and Problem-Solving
Experience with Embedded systems
Automotive standards and processes
Microsoft 365, ERP Systems, MES Systems
Physical Abilities - Ability to perform job duties in a manufacturing/office
Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods as required
Ability to use standard business or production equipment
Ability to travel internationally
