Mercato Fresh is looking for a dependable and energetic Prepared Foods Cook to join our team. This hands-on position involves preparing, cooking, packaging, displaying a variety of hot and cold prepared foods while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities
Prepare and cook hot and cold foods according to recipes and established procedures
Portion, package, label, date, and rotate prepared food products
Stock and maintain hot tables, cold counters, grab-and-go areas, and other displays
Provide friendly and skilled customer service
Follow safe food handling, temperature control, sanitation, and FIFO procedures
Safely operate department equipment after appropriate training
Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and production areas
Monitor product freshness and quality and remove products that do not meet standards
Assist with receiving, stocking,



inventory rotation, and waste control
Complete opening, closing, and general department duties as assigned

Qualifications
Previous food service, grocery, kitchen, or cooking experience is an asset
Safe Food Handler certification is an asset
Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and detail
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Reliable with good communication and customer service skills
Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Pay: $20.00-$29.00 per hour
