Become a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard with YMCA of Southwestern Ontario in Petrolia, ON. This role focuses on aquatic supervision and engaging swim instruction for all ages.
The YMCA is seeking dedicated individuals for these vital roles. You'll ensure a secure swimming environment while leading lessons and performing lifeguard duties. Previous lifeguard experience and certifications are strongly preferred to succeed in this position, as you’ll be professionally supporting community health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce YMCA policies during swim programs
• Provide instruction for individual and group swim lessons
• Monitor participants actively for safety during lessons
• Engage in continual training for lifeguard and swim instruction




• Record progress of participants and communicate with guardians
Requirements:
• Current National Lifeguard certification required
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications essential
• YMCA or equivalent Swim Instructor certification is required
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening necessary
