As a Pet Cremation Technician, you will handle the secure and respectful care of pet remains, maintain a clean and organized environment, and deliver compassionate service to pet families. You will work with instruction and guidance from the team leader and the crematorium site manager.
Duties
Safely handle and process pet remains with care, respect, and professionalism throughout the cremation process
Operate cremation equipment according to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
Occasionally assist pet owners, providing empathetic care
Maintain detailed records of each cremation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move pets safely and efficiently
Keep the cremation area clean and organized
Perform some groundskeeping work
Occasionally assist with transfers of pets from veterinary clinics to the crematorium
Requirements
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely,
often involving lifting or moving pet remains
Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach toward pet owners
Previous experience in sales or customer service is a plus but not required
Mechanical ability, general equipment operating experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures for record keeping and equipment operation
Willingness to work in a physically demanding workplace with standing, bending, and lifting involved
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and sensitivity
Criminal record check required before employment is confirmed
