Elementary French Teacher/Tutor

Location: Oxford Learning Stittsville, 1 Hobin Street, Unit 2, Stittsville, ON.
Employment type: Part‑time
Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour

Job Overview

We seek a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker to teach and tutor students in French from grades 1 to 12 in a small‑group setting. Teaching will be conducted in French and will follow Oxford Learning’s methodologies and philosophies. All lesson plans and curriculum materials are provided.

Position Requirements

• After‑school and evening hours, Tuesday‑Thursday (4:00 pm–8:15 pm). A term commitment through June is preferred, continuation through summer is a plus.
• Solid background in spoken and written French and English. Must be comfortable teaching up to Grade 9; Grade 12 is preferred.
• In‑person position; must be able to commute to Stittsville.
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification an asset




Positive knowledge of the current Grades 1‑8 French core curriculum

Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 1‑8 (or equivalent) level
Robust English written and oral communication skills
Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students simultaneously

Responsibilities
Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
