About the RoleLegislative Protective Services Branch (LPS) seeks experienced Police Officers to serve as armed Peace Officers reporting to a Sergeant in Operations. The role provides non‑partisan administrative and procedural services to Members of Provincial Parliament and supports daily operations of the Legislative Assembly.What You’ll DoAct in conformity with the law and established policies.Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism by exhibiting the utmost tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.Provide exceptional customer service in interactions with Members of Provincial Parliament, the media, visiting dignitaries, and the public.Carry out duties as a Peace Officer in accordance with legislation and service standards.Apply the principles of bias‑free law enforcement.Conduct general patrols and control access within the Legislative Precinct.Respond to calls for service, including criminal activity, security breaches, medical emergencies, and potential threats.Maintain a safe environment in the Legislative Precinct by exercising police authority, enforcing laws, and investigating incidents.Prepare and submit timely and complete reports concerning investigations and service activities.How You QualifyMinimum secondary school (high school) diploma or post‑secondary education.Past training and police experience.Possession of a Class G license.Fit for duty, physical and mental ability to perform the duties of the position.Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.Successful completion of the 16‑week Basic training program.Excellent communication skills, oral and written.Note:While Canadian experience is not a requirement, applicants with proof of a Canadian Police Service within the last four (4) years may be eligible for a shortened basic training program.

Upon completion of the 6‑week EPO training program, the starting wage is $70,339.
