Guided by our mission to deliver products, care, expertise, and memorable moments, Pet Valu is a place where people build meaningful careers while making a positive impact on pets and communities.What is the role?Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Store Operations, the Regional Director Corporate Store Operations is responsible for all activities and sales results in the territory assigned. The role ensures that the stores of a designated geographical region meet sales goals and attain profitability for the short and long term by developing a strategy and vision to promote people development, maximum productivity and profitability, business growth, customer service and compliance with company procedures. Builds and develops a high‑performance District Management team.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and direct a territory composed of several districts to achieve sales and profit goalsManage multiple districts within a region and adjust sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each districtLead districts to ensure the customer service model and initiatives are in place and that stores’ sales exceed budgetsEnsure territory expenses stay within budgetMonitor sales, KPIs and margin of assigned territory’s stores; develop plans with District Sales Manager and Franchise Business Consultants to improve resultsEnsure incentive plans drive resultsAdministration – paperwork, reporting, and coordinating moves/relocations, etc.Identify, communicate and implement business opportunities throughout the region to maximize sales, reduce damages, maintain proper animal care and achieve UPT/Average Ring goalsEnsure that districts maintain solid store operation routines that contribute to maximizing sales,
efficiency and profitLead retail business through effective collaboration across key functions: Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Retail Buying Team, Store Design and Retail OperationsEnsure all districts maintain a brand‑appropriate look in accordance with company direction to provide a high‑quality shopping experience for each customerOversee succession plans for management and key positions throughout the region to build retention and reduce turnoverMaintain high‑quality customer service by providing the best shopping experience for each customer and ensuring World Class Service is executedAnalyze reports, communicate appropriate information to District Managers to maximize business opportunities and improve district profitWhat will you need to succeed?College‑level graduate (preferably from a Business, Retail or Marketing program) and/or extensive retail experienceMinimum of 7 years retail chain experience at a District or multi‑store management level leading 20+ stores in a large retail chain; ideally gained inprogressive operations rolesStrong retail visual merchandising skillsDemonstrated ability to develop and execute regional strategies, anticipate market trends and translate insights into actionable operating plans that drive performance across multiple locationsProven track record of consistently exceeding financial and operational targets within a multi‑site or regional environmentExperience leading complex, fast‑paced operations, effectively prioritizing and allocating resources (people, budget and infrastructure) to maximize efficiency and resultsStrong experience building and leading high‑performing teams, including full‑cycle hiring,
succession planning and talent development across geographically dispersed teamsExperience establishing clear performance expectations, KPIs and operational metrics; continuously monitor results and implement adjustments to improve outcomesDeep understanding of organizational dynamics, with the ability to influence cross‑functional partners and navigate corporate and field environments to drive alignment and executionCompensationThe targeted salary range for this position is $118,700 - $140,000 annually.
