About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission-driven organization, which is dedicated to the long-term stewardship of the ecological and cultural integrity of the Qikiqtani Region and the well-being of Inuit communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing the Society's administrative, operational, and governance functions, ensuring that it fulfills its responsibilities under the SINAA Agreement. This includes building the necessary systems, policies, and frameworks to maintain the Society's independence, accountability, and sound governance. The Executive Director will also be the public face of the organization, cultivating trusted relationships with various stakeholders and representing the Society with professionalism and integrity.

The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a non-profit, conservation organization, or a similarly mission-driven environment,



and will be inspired by the purpose of the organization. They should possess strong governance instincts, sound judgment, integrity, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. Experience in financial management, particularly in distinguishing between governance, oversight, management, and implementation roles, is essential. The role requires a leader who is confident in a start-up workplace, diplomatic, and relationship-oriented, with the ability to navigate institutional and interpersonal pressures. While not mandatory, experience in administering funding programs, working with investment reporting and advisors, and operating in Nunavut, especially within the Qikiqtani Region, would be strong assets. The Executive Director will be expected to bring a genuine passion for conservation, Indigenous leadership, and advancing meaningful, community-led impact, and to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Inuit-led conservation and stewardship.
