The Academic Advisor and Success Coach works within the Advisement and Transition team, focusing on proactive support for students. Core responsibilities include academic advising, success coaching for vulnerable students, and programmatic support for first-generation students. You'll leverage advising technologies, facilitate workshops, and collaborate with faculty to enhance student transitions and graduation rates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise pre-major students using student-centered methods • Utilize advising tools to track student progress • Provide open advising resources for all students • Collaborate on faculty advising and orientation initiatives • Support first-generation programming and workshops
Requirements: • Experience in academic advising or student success roles • Master’s degree preferred in higher education or counseling • Strong communication and organizational skills • Proficiency with technology like Banner or Starfish • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
