Position PurposeCommunity and Family Service support work is focused on supporting, promoting, and enhancing well‑being of individuals and families as well as assisting the immediate needs of clients, donors, and guests through our programs. The Community Ministry Supervisor will provide general support to ensure the dinner program at the Centre of Hope is run efficiently, mirroring the current lunch program.AccountabilitiesClient ServicesWork in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.Willing to facilitate spiritual care of staff and guests, including leading grace for meals at Center of Hope.Gives support to all community ministries programs which include:Centre of Hope ProgramsLunch and dinner programsFamily Services ProgramsThird‑Party AdministrationIncome TaxChristmas CampaignOther as requiredEnsures ministry objectives are consistently accomplished and that a mission focus is applied to all program initiativesAdministrationMaintains a high level of confidentiality.Answers the phone, makes appointments and does any necessary paperwork.Schedules and organizes volunteers for dinner service.Receives (and/or declines) and sorts/organizes non‑monetary donations according to Food Safety regulations.May have to arrange for discarding of items that are not usable in accordance with policy.Maintains a clean and organized workspace including intake office, food storage room, walk‑in freezer, kitchen area, washrooms, dining room area and external building surrounds.CommunicationNetworks and refers to The Salvation Army, government, and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and program when necessary.Always treat all guests with respect and dignity.May supervise fellow workers, students and/or volunteers.Perform other position related duties as required.ProgramMay assist with organization of special programs.May assist in the kitchen and as needed.May supervise the Dining room during lunch meal and/or Dinner Service.Assist with fundraising as needed.Public RelationsProvides visibility for The Salvation Army by maintaining positive relations within the community through public through Community Network Committees.Health,
