Our telecommunications client is seeking a Senior Design Specialist (10+ years) to architect and validate core networking solutions using Cisco NSO, MPLS, SDN, and network automation

Join a team delivering advanced network automation and orchestration initiatives within a large-scale telecommunications workplace. This role focuses on designing and validating next-generation MPLS and cloud networking solutions while developing automation capabilities using Cisco NSO, Python, and service orchestration frameworks. The position supports large-scale Software-Defined WAN and Business Services infrastructure initiatives with a focus on reliability, scalability, and network virtualization.

Must Haves

- 10+ years working with IP networks in a service provider environment
- Expert-level expertise with BGP , OSPF , MPLS, ISIS, and IP/MPLS L3VPN services
- Hands-on experience with Cisco NSO , Python , and network automation principles
- Extensive background designing and implementing large-scale network solutions and network transformation initiatives
- Bachelor Degree or Master of Engineering/Science in Network Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Nice to Have

- CCIE or JNCIE certification
- Experience with OpenStack and VMware cloud orchestration solutions
- Working knowledge of Data Center automation, cloud technologies, and vNF management
- Experience with Ixia or Spirent testing platforms
- Knowledge of IPSec, PKI Architecture, and AAA security solutions

Responsibilities

- Design and validate complex network architectures for automated solutions
- Develop and maintain Network Element Drivers (NEDs)



for network platforms
- Implement routing and switching solutions using MPLS, BGP, and OSPF
- Create technical specifications for automation initiatives
- Architect end-to-end network solutions for business services infrastructure
- Develop solutions supporting high-availability and geo-redundancy requirements
- Support systems engineering, requirements, and user story development for operational automation capabilities
