Duties and ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and refrigeration systems. Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets production requirements. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime. Respond promptly and provide emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process to prevent disruptions.Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and food safety regulations. Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to support a safe and comfortable working environment.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inspections, and inventory management. Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures to track equipment history and performance.Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions. Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and safety personnel,



to address maintenance issues and implement solutions. Provide technical assistance and training to production staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.Flexibility: Work non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum Job RequirementsEducation / Certifications and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Red Seal Journeymen Ticket preferred (or required).Technical school education preferred.2 years’ related experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferably an automated food processing plant.2 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Electrical troubleshooting/repairs on PLC, relay logic, and logic controllers; familiarity with 480V, 220V, 110V AC single/three‑phase and DC systems.Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and SCADA systems.Solid understanding of electrical systems, including motors, drives,



and industrial sensors.Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.Ability to perform mechanical repairs that include hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Ability to operate a computer to support and record documentation in a computer maintenance management system.Working Conditions and Physical EffortThe position rotates days and nights. The work schedule alternates 4 days one week and 3 days the following week. Work involves daily and frequent exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.Position requires ability to stand; walk around office, warehouse, and plant; lift and carry packagesup to 50lbs; utilize fine dexterity; reach, kneel, crawl, and twist on a daily basis.
