Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you may do jobs such as:
Delivering tailored learning activities to pupils in small groups or one‑to‑one
Ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons and activities
Listening to pupils read and reading with them individually, in groups, or as a class




Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, reporting concerns to the teacher as needed
Assisting the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and encouraging positive conduct
Helping to plan and prepare lesson activities and classroom materials
Monitoring pupil progress and guiding learning where appropriate
Providing regular feedback to teachers on pupil development
Supporting with extracurricular activities such as breakfast/afterschool clubs, and lunchtime duties
Carrying out general classroom administration and resource preparation
