With current openings at the St. Thomas YMCA, you’ll engage in lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. Ideal candidates will possess essential certifications like the Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard and CPR. Your role will also emphasize promoting YMCA’s core values, ensuring safety for all participants, and being an active member of the aquatics team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee recreational swims and swim lessons
• Provide swim instruction for individuals and groups
• Monitor participants during lessons, ready to assist
• Maintain compliance with YMCA policies and procedures
• Record progress and communicate with guardians
Requirements:
• Current Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications
• Prior lifeguard or swimming instruction experience
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to assist others during emergencies
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
