As a student analyst on our Global Investment Banking team, you will help our clients by providing customized financing and advisory solutions. With offices located in Canada, the United States, Colombia, Europe, Asia and Australia, our Global Investment Banking group offers equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services across a number of industry and product groups.Desks you may be assigned toGlobal Diversified IndustriesEnergy, Infrastructure & TransitionFinancials & Private CapitalReal EstateMergers & AcquisitionsTechnology & InnovationCompensationExpected annualised base salary range for this role: $105,000. The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job‑related knowledge, as well as geographical location and specific business needs.Key informationCIBC reserves the right to modify or amend the CIBC Opportunity Scholarship at any time without further notice.Applications are assessed on the following criteria:Academic performanceVolunteer/community involvement and/or extracurricular activitiesEssays demonstrating barriers faced to entry and scholarship impactResumes and interviewsSelection of scholarship recipients is made by CIBC.Preference will be given to students whose field of study aligns with business needs.All applicants will receive a confirmation email of the results of the selection process, once available.If a recipient decides not to complete their internship with CIBC, they will no longer be eligible to receive scholarship funds. The scholarship must be paid out in the same year that they intern with CIBC.Recipients must return to academic studies in September 2027; once accepted,



scholarship payment and/or summer internships cannot be deferred to a later year.How you’ll succeedSummer Internship – You are legally eligible to participate in and complete a full‑time 2027 summer internship (May – August 2027) with CIBC in one of the following cities: Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver.Eligible Institution – You are part of a Canadian university and/or college which has recognized provincial degree‑granting powers.Apply – Submit an online application no later than Friday, February 27th, 11:59 PM Eastern Time.Required Documents – You must provide a copy of your resume and submit two essays under the ‘My Experience’ portion of your application. These should all be uploaded into the ‘Resume/CV’ section as one PDF document. Essays should address the following:Describe the challenge you face pursuing a career in financial services. How do you feel your identity or background (e.G., gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.) have created barriers to opportunity? (250 words or less)Why are you interested in pursuing a career in Investment Banking? (250 words)Remember, you must complete all parts of your application to be considered for this scholarship opportunity. Deadline extensions will not be granted. If any of the requirements noted above are not met, the application will be considered incomplete.Who you areYou are entering your final year of study towards a first bachelor’s degree in September 2027.You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related program at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no earlier than December 2027.Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and live our values – trust, teamwork and accountability.If you are a successful recipientSuccessful Applicants – You will receive confirmation of your scholarship by April 2026 along with internship placement (business unit and internship start/end dates).



Recipients will be required to complete an online scholarship acceptance process and forward any required documentation such as proof of registration from the institution they will be attending. Scholarship payment will be supported by Scholarship Partners Canada (SPC).Your payment will be issued in August 2027 upon completion of your internship with CIBC. It can take six to eight weeks, depending on the method of payment chosen. Funds will be sent to your educational institution on behalf of the sponsor.You will make sure to pay your tuition fees within the defined time frame, regardless of the timing of scholarship payment.
