Our financial services client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer (10+ years of experience) to design, implement, and optimize electronic trading platforms using Java and low-latency systems

Join a banking technology team supporting a global electronic trading platform within the equities technology space. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing scalable low-latency applications in a highly automated and containerized environment. The position offers exposure to global collaboration across distributed engineering teams and performance-focused software engineering initiatives.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, 3 days per week in-office. Days must align with team schedule. 4 members on the team that support morning or evenings on a rotation basis.

Must Haves

- 10+ years developing low-latency systems or real-time software applications
- Advanced proficiency in Java including concurrency, tuning,



and memory management
- Hands-on work within containerized environments and automated software development workflows
- Robust troubleshooting and debugging of software engineering issues

Nice to Have

- Using agentic AI for software maintenance
- Container runtimes including Podman and Docker with Kubernetes orchestration
- Message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron
- Data-driven optimizations including profiling and metrics collection
- Working knowledge of CI/CD techniques

Responsibilities

- Design enhancements to the electronic trading platform
- Implement enhancements to the electronic trading platform
- Deploy enhancements to the electronic trading platform
- Support applications developed by the engineering team
- Optimize existing trading platform components
- Collaborate with software engineers across multiple time zones
