OverviewSenior Geo-Structural/Geotechnical Design Engineer, for COWI in North AmericaRole location and typeToronto — Regular, Full-Time, HybridResponsibilitiesPerform engineering analysis and design of tunnels, caverns, and shafts in soils, bedrock and/or mixed ground conditions, including initial support and final lining constructed by methods such as sequential excavation method (SEM) / NATM, TBM, or drill and blastApply soil and rock mechanics to evaluate failure modes and develop ground support schemesEvaluate subsurface conditions for different tunneling and underground excavation methods based on geotechnical dataPrepare drawing sketches indicating support types, geometry, construction sequencing, instrumentation, and results; document these in technical memoranda and geotechnical design reportsContribute to digital delivery and information management of projects from conception through completionQualificationsA Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (PhD considered an asset)A registered Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in OntarioMinimum of 10+ years’ international project design experience, including analysis and design of tunnels, caverns and underground structuresExperience providing geotechnical support for complex structures; familiarity with Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual, CSA Codes,
