High School Math Teacher/Tutor – part‑time position available at Oxford Learning Richmond. You will teach pre‑planned lessons to students in grades 9‑12, working with up to three students at a time. The role is in‑person and requires a short commute to Richmond, British Columbia.
Position Requirements
- Availability: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
- Commitment to the term ending in June (continuation into summer preferred).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without prior lesson planning.
- Vulnerable sector screening required.
- No relocation package available; must reside in or near Richmond.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of current grades 9–12 mathematics curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
Experience
- Experience teaching or tutoring maths to grades 9–12 (or equivalent).
- Solid written and oral communication in English.
- Excellent math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
- Capacity to multitask and engage up to three students simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at varying levels in a collaborative, coaching style.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Complete post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
- Participate in campus‑wide training and feedback sessions.
