Job End Date November22,2026.Job SummaryWe are looking for a Data Scientist to join our research team focusing on Machine Learning, statistics, and data science. The role involves training, validating, and applying AI/ML/DL models using data from the Intelligent Care Platform (ICP).ResponsibilitiesParticipate in research focused on training, validating, and applying AI/ML/DL using ICP data.Oversee cleaning and maintenance of data from multiple wide-ranging sources (internal, external, administrative health, clinical).Conduct extensive modelling of complex large data sets using software and languages.Explore data validity and perform statistical analysis.Develop approaches and techniques for problem solutions, and communicate complex problems to the research team.Perform data extraction and linkage from multiple databases for analysis.Develop statistical approaches and implement program code (SAS, Python, R, Matlab, etc.).Maintain and update syntax, metadata files (data dictionaries), documentation procedures and methods.Perform statistical modelling and data analyses, including sophisticated modelling techniques, hypothesis testing, and power and sample size calculations.Interpret, summarize,



and document statistical analysis and results.Integrate data from comprehensive data sources and develop robust data pipelines for regular updates.Ensure compliance with ethical and data security policies and procedures.Respect privacy and ethics around the use of sensitive and privileged data sets.Work with faculty researchers, post‑docs, research associates, assistants, industry partners and vendors.Aid in writing research ethics applications and publications.Work effectively in a team environment with limited supervision and respect diversity.Consequence of Error/JudgementThe incumbent is given wide latitude for judgment; a lack of judgment could harm the project and partner organizations’ research and funding.Minimum QualificationsPost‑graduate degree in Statistics.Minimum three years of related research analysis experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Willingness to respect diverse perspectives.Demonstrates commitment to enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion awareness.Preferred QualificationsM.Sc. in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or equivalent.Minimum of two years of research analysis experience.Excellent programming experience (Python, R, Java, JavaScript, C#, C++).Experience with relational and non‑relational database systems (SQL, Hive, Cassandra, MongoDB, Spark, Neo4J, Pandas).Hands‑on experience with machine learning packages and models (PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow).Excellent communication skills; able to explain complexconcepts to non‑technical audiences.Excellent organizational skills; able to juggle multipleprojects.Equity and DiversityAll qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
