Pipelayer with proven experience installing Ductile Iron (DI) Pipework
to join our site team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in water infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or similar projects and will be confident working with ductile iron pipelines and associated fittings. You will be responsible for the safe and accurate installation of pipework in accordance with drawings, specifications and site requirements. Key Responsibilities
Install
Ductile Iron (DI) pipework , fittings and associated components. Lay, align and joint pipes to the required levels, gradients and specifications. Carry out pipe bedding, surround and backfilling activities as required. Work with excavators and other plant operators to safely position and install pipework. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and pipe-laying plans.
Ensure pipework is correctly aligned, supported and protected during installation. Install bends, tees, valves, hydrants and other associated fittings. Assist with pressure testing, inspection and commissioning of completed pipework. Identify and report any issues with materials, levels, ground conditions or installation. Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. Work effectively as part of a pipelaying and groundworks team. Requirements
Proven experience as a
Pipelayer / Pipe Fitter / Utility Pipelayer . Hands-on experience installing Ductile Iron Pipework is essential. Experience working on water mains, utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering projects. Good understanding of pipe jointing methods, fittings and installation procedures. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Robust awareness of site health and safety requirements. Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment. Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively within a team. Experience working on clean water or potable water projects. Experience with large-diameter pipework. Relevant water industry or utility qualifications. CSCS / EUSR / NRSWA or other relevant site qualifications.
