Oxford Learning Whitby is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to work in our learning centre. This position is ideal for individuals who love working with students, enjoy teaching language, and are passionate about helping others build their skills.
All lessons are pre‑planned; Tutor‑teachers will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
Work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). Commitment until the end of the term in June; extending through the summer is preferred.
In‑person role—must be able to commute to the Whitby location.
Vulnerable sector screening required.
Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Whitby area.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
Teaching certification an asset.
Good knowledge of the current K‑12 curriculum.
Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring at K‑12 (or equivalent) level.
Solid English written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
Teach both online and in‑person.
Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Fill post‑lesson notes.
Complete daily student communication updates.
Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job Type & Salary
Part‑time – $17.20 to $18.00 per hour.
Schedule
