Join the Assembly of First Nations as a Senior Policy Analyst, focusing on child welfare and First Nations rights in Ottawa. This full time, permanent role combines research, analysis, and policy development.
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis pertaining to Bill C-92 and its implications for First Nations children and families. You will gather data, engage with key stakeholders, and contribute to strategic planning in line with First Nations priorities. Your expertise in policy legislation and child welfare will play a pivotal role in advancing AFN’s advocacy positions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze statistical information and write comprehensive reports
• Develop policies through stakeholder engagement and data collection




• Prepare briefing notes and other required documentation
• Update datasets and maintain information repositories
• Facilitate meetings and consultations with various parties
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in a relevant field
• 3+ years of experience in child welfare policy
• Understanding of First Nations history and issues
• Advanced skills in data analysis and communication
• Proficiency in both official languages is an asset
